The Dreamer Within: A Journey to Rediscovery
This week’s blog, The High Cost of Silencing the Dream, wasn’t just another piece of writing for me. It was a moment of reflection, connection, and healing.
It started as a quiet thought, an urge I couldn’t quite shake. A memory. A glimpse of the boy I once was, the dreamer who dared to imagine a life bigger than the one he knew. And then, the stark realization of what happens when that dreamer is silenced.
I wasn’t planning to write about this. In fact, I had other topics lined up - more polished, less personal. But sometimes, life calls you to step into the truth you’re living, even if it’s uncomfortable.
The moment hit me while sitting at my desk, trying to focus on something else entirely. I caught myself typing, “How much do authors make?” It wasn’t curiosity; it was something deeper. I was a reflex born of the doubts I thought I’d outgrown.
That’s when it hit me: it wasn’t me asking that question. It was the little boy inside, the one who had learned long ago to guard against disappointment, to lower his expectations, to protect himself from the pain of dreams deferred.
I stopped what I was doing and let myself sit with him, with his fears, his hurts, and his hopes.
What unfolded next became the blog you’ll read today. It’s not just about the cost of silencing a dream; it’s about the power of inviting that dreamer back into the light.
Writing it wasn’t easy, but it was freeing. Because here’s the truth: those dreams, the ones we bury out of fear, don’t disappear. They wait. And when we finally acknowledge them, when we give them a voice, we don’t just reclaim our dreams, we reclaim ourselves.
This newsletter is my way of inviting you into that process.
What dreams have you silenced?
What part of you is still waiting to be heard?
I hope this week’s blog resonates with you. I hope it invites you to look inward and find the dreamer within. Because the cost of silencing the dream may be high, but the reward of letting it speak is priceless.
